The windshield is huge for a reason.

So get your eyes off the rear view mirror and keep moving forward

Well, here we are, 2021. I’m not going to go into the “difficult times” of 2020 in any depth. But I will say that, as “challenging” as it was, I found tremendous learning through the adversity that I experienced last year. What could have been life changing in a very negative and devastating way, I chose to view it as an opportunity to invest in my health, faith, family, and business. So, as I glance to in my rear view mirror, I see dramatically improved health. I lost 25lbs but the real home run was normalized blood pressure and all bloodwork is in the green. I feel better than I have in 20 years. I also catch a glimpse of the stress filled life that I left back there. Finally making the decision to go out on my own. Sure, going all in to be an entrepreneur in the midst of a pandemic may seem like a crazy road to ruin, but God had other things in mind. Sure, I saw some huge roadblocks and had to work hard to overcome them. And, many times things looked dismal to the natural eye. But, like I said, God had another plan.
What about you? If you take a quick look in the rear view mirror what will you see? While you can probably see some serious challenges and frustrations back there, I want to challenge you to look past those things and try to focus on the “bright side”. What did you learn that you never knew before? What did you do that you’ve never done before? What good thing in your life today couldn’t possibly have happened if it weren’t for the crazy challenges you had to go through?

So, now that we’ve taken a quick look behind us, let’s get our eyes back on the road ahead. Now, focus on what’s in front of you. Can you see it? Come on, look real hard. I know it’s there. Turn off the phone and the radio so you can really focus. Do you see it? It’s your future. It’s your dream. It’s the goals that you know you want to achieve. YES, there it is. Now you have it in view. Don’t look away. Keep your eyes focused ahead and GO FOR IT. You will never reach your destination if you only look in the rear view. If you do that you will hit everything but your goals. You got this just stay focused on it and keep moving forward. You might have to slow down a bit for the curves but don’t be afraid to lean into it. Trust your tires and throttle through the curve.
