“When a man has put a limit on what he will do, he has put a limit on what he can do.”—Charles Schwab
We all have God given talents and gifts. Natural abilities that, when embraced and developed, can have a tremendous impact on our lives and the lives of people around us.
However, the level of impact is completely up to you and me. The only way my gifts and talents are going to benefit anyone, including me and my family, is if I decide to do something with it. It’s a decision we have to make. Take a top fuel dragster for example. If you don’t decide to turn the key. You’ll never experience the nearly 2 thousand horse power. All that power is not beneficial if you don’t turn the key.
The trouble is that often times we think our gifts have no value. Maybe someone said your not good enough. Or that you don’t have any giftedness at all. Perhaps you tried using your gifts and it just didn’t work out so you let it go. Maybe you “don’t have time” or the timing isn’t right. Whatever the case, it isn’t meant to be that way.
You have gifts and talents for a reason. And if you want to find out why you have them and how they can impact your world, you have to decide to do something about it. All gifts have to be developed regardless of the gift. It’s going to take work, commitment, time, and energy. Most importantly it will take courage.
So be courageous and make the decision to do something different and start the journey today. It doesn’t matter how young or old you are, now is the time. So get started.
