A Builder Wants to See Results From What He Builds

The Lord’s expectation is simple, “Remain Faithful”. Well, it “sounds” simple anyway. Seriously though, often times the simplest things can be very difficult. Think about it, even after seeing multiple amazing miracles, the people of Israel still had doubt. And not just a little doubt, but a lot of doubt. I know that when we read the scriptures it seems like these things happened daily over a short period of time. But, what we read actually transpired over 40+ years. So there were days, weeks, months, and even years where they fell into the daily grind and completely lost sight of the incredible grace and mercy of the Builder. They forgot who they actually belonged to and what He expected from them.
Have you ever gone days, weeks, or months without that “He IS with me” feeling? Perhaps it’s been years even. When we get lulled into the day to day, day in and day out, we get complacent. Complacency leads to dissatisfaction and dissatisfaction leads to resentment. Hmmm, sounds a little like the people of Israel in the wilderness for 40 years doesn’t it? We get frustrated sometimes with the daily grind and before we know it, we’ve throttled back and set the cruise or we might have even pulled over and put it in park. But the Builder expects results.
So, how does being faithful equate to getting results? I believe it’s simply to stay faithful to Him by staying faithful in the tasks He called us to do. If we “do as unto the Lord” as His word says, results will come. So we just have to stay in it until He tells us it’s time to shift. Even when we are frustrated in it. It’s something that I find myself wrestling with at times. During those times when I feel as though “things should be different by now”, I have to slow the roller coaster ride down for a bit and take a deep breath. Get my mind right and refocus on the “Why” I’m doing what I’m doing in the first place.

Be blessed
